Almost all of the small towns have an eatery of one kind or another. The small town Mom & Pop restaurants are some of the best home cooked meals around. The smaller town restaurants are usually just breakfast and lunch meals and close at 2:00 p.m. Don't let the size of the town fool you though - there are some wonderful steakhouses that cater to South Dakota Angus beef in both the larger and smaller towns too. Numerous towns in South Dakota have strong ethnic backgrounds that lend to some great ethnic foods. Town size doesn't count in South Dakota when it comes to great restaurants and food.
